Learning doesn't just occur in the classroom. Each year students experience a variety of hands on team building activities that challenges them mentally and physically.
Water Confidence
Cadets are given the opportunity to participate in water confidence training. The event consists of five stations; a three meter drop blind folded, a 15 meter swim with equipment, an equipment ditch station, a 10 minute continuous swim, and a tread water station. The first three events were done wearing full uniform, with a load bearing vest, and a simulated rifle.
JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge
In June we participate in a summer camp that is free of charge to our students. Students who volunteer to attend the camp will spend a week with other students from New England. During their time at camp they will challenge themselves through activities such as rappelling, a ropes course, a a challenging hike, and a canoe or rafting trip.
Team Building
With the University of Maine in our back yard team building activities are readily accessible.
The Maine Army National Guard often provides team building events. Cadets have to problem solve and work together to accomplish their task.
